Glassblowing lessons
If you're looking for a truly personal and immersive glassblowing experience, my private workshops offer exactly that. Unlike other classes where you might be part of a large group waiting for your turn, my sessions are completely private. This means you will have the studio all to yourself (and anyone you choose to bring with you), ensuring a focused and hands-on learning experience tailored specifically to you.

I personally teach every session, drawing on my 20 years of experience working with hot glass. You won’t be learning from an assistant but from a dedicated artist with a deep understanding of the craft. I will guide you through the process, helping you create your own unique glass piece in a relaxed and inspiring environment.

Located just a five-minute walk from East Finchley underground station, my studio is easily accessible while offering a tranquil escape. Nestled under a huge oak tree overlooking the woods, the setting enhances the magical experience of working with molten glass.

During a 1:2 experience you will both start with a solid piece (eg candleholder) then progress onto a blown piece each (eg tumbler). During a private 1:1 lesson you will make a solid piece and up to 3 blown pieces. In all sessions you can choose from a wide range of colours to make glass which will be yours to keep.

The studio is 5 minutes walk from East Finchley Underground Station, zone 3 on the Northern Line. There is parking if coming by car.

Please note your work will need to be annealed overnight in a kiln to eliminate stress and can be collected or posted to you at the earliest opportunity after the session.

The experience requires moderate manual dexterity and access to the studio is via 12 outside steps.

Utterly brilliant! Samantha was warm and welcoming and an excellent teacher. My sister and I really enjoyed the course- Samantha helped us to feel confident while learning the techniques and made the process fun at the same time. A lovely way to spend a few hours!
